Have you ever felt physically present in your classroom—but spiritually or emotionally exhausted underneath it all?
As Christian educators, we spend so much of our lives pouring into others.
We encourage students.
Support families.
Serve colleagues.
Show up day after day with open hands and willing hearts.
And yet somewhere along the way, many educators quietly begin carrying something they were never meant to carry:
The belief that their worth is tied to their performance.
We begin evaluating ourselves through the lens of test scores, classroom outcomes, difficult interactions, or whether we feel successful in a particular season.
And when a school year feels hard, we can slowly allow that season to tell us who we are.
But friend, God sees your story differently.
Your Identity Was Never Meant to Come From Performance
One of the truths I shared in this week’s Kingdom Educators Podcast is that our identity is not rooted in productivity, achievement, or striving.
Our identity is rooted in Christ.
You are not defined by:
- your hardest year
- your most challenging students
- your mistakes
- your disappointments
- your unfinished goals
You are defined by who God says you are.
A beloved son.
A beloved daughter.
A Kingdom ambassador on mission with Jesus.
When we forget that truth, we begin striving.
When we remember it, we begin abiding.
Heaven Interprets Your Story Differently
So often we look back on difficult seasons and see failure.
God sees formation.
We see setbacks.
God sees preparation.
We see unanswered questions.
God sees a story that is still being written.
Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Not some things.
Not only the successful things.
All things.
Even the stretching seasons.
Even the hidden seasons.
Even the seasons that still don’t make complete sense.
What Was God Forming In You?
As this school year comes to a close, I want to encourage you not to rush past the reflection process.
Ask Jesus:
- How do You see my story?
- What lies do You want to replace with truth?
- Where have You been faithful?
- What were You forming in me this year?
You may discover that God was doing far more than you realized.
You Don’t Have To Walk Into Another School Year Alone
One of the reasons I created the Kingdom Educators Collective is because so many Christian teachers are trying to live out their calling in isolation.
They love Jesus.
They love students.
But they need support.
Community.
Encouragement.
Coaching.
Prayer.
People who understand the unique assignment of being a Christian educator.
The Kingdom Educators Collective is a small-group coaching and community experience designed to help Christian educators stay rooted in their identity, connected to Jesus, and supported throughout the realities of the school year.
Enrollment closes June 5 at midnight.

Friend, your story still matters.
Your calling still matters.
And the God who began a good work in you is still faithfully carrying it forward.
Nothing has been wasted.
