Have you ever found yourself in a season where you quietly wondered:
“God… how did I end up here?”
Maybe the assignment in front of you feels bigger than your own strength.
Maybe you feel underqualified, stretched, uncertain, or emotionally exhausted.
Maybe this school year looked nothing like what you expected.
And yet somewhere in the middle of it all, God is still writing a story.
This week on the Kingdom Educators Podcast, my husband Jake joined me for a very personal and honest conversation about some of the behind-the-scenes moments of my journey through education, ministry, entrepreneurship, and learning to trust God through unexpected assignments.
As we reflected together, one thing became so clear:
God often uses the seasons that stretch us the most to prepare us for things we never could have imagined.
When the Assignment Feels Bigger Than You
During the conversation, I shared about stepping into a fifth-grade highly capable teaching position years ago — a role that quickly left me feeling completely overwhelmed and underqualified.
I found myself teaching subjects I didn’t feel prepared to teach, answering questions I didn’t always know how to answer, and navigating pressures I never expected.
There were mornings I cried before school started.
Moments where I quietly wondered if I was failing.
Moments where I questioned whether I was truly capable of what had been placed in front of me.
And honestly, many teachers know exactly what that feels like.
Education often asks educators to carry impossible expectations while simultaneously adapting, pivoting, learning new systems, managing emotional needs, and somehow continuing to show up with strength and grace every single day.
But one of the biggest things God taught me in that season was this:
Sometimes the assignments God gives us are intentionally bigger than our own strength because He never intended for us to carry them without Him.
Learning to Partner With Holy Spirit
Some of the most meaningful moments from that season didn’t come from perfect lesson plans or having all the answers.
They came from learning to quietly pray throughout the day:
“Holy Spirit, what do I do?”
And over and over again, God showed up.
Through wisdom.
Through peace.
Through creativity.
Through unexpected solutions.
Through moments of connection with students.
There were times other teachers would walk into my classroom and comment on the peace they felt there. Meanwhile, I was simply trying to stay connected to Jesus in the middle of the chaos.
Looking back now, I can see that God was teaching me something far deeper than curriculum.
He was teaching me dependence.
As Holy Bible John 15 reminds us, apart from Him we can do nothing. Christian educators were never meant to carry the weight of this calling in their own strength. We are invited to stay connected to the Vine — our source of wisdom, endurance, creativity, peace, and hope.
God Uses Every Season
One of the beautiful things about reflecting on your story with God is realizing how many seemingly unrelated seasons were actually preparing you for what was ahead.
The classroom seasons.
The stretching seasons.
The disappointing seasons.
The hidden seasons.
Even the seasons where nothing made sense at the time.
None of it was wasted.
As Holy Bible Romans 8:28 reminds us, God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Even the hard seasons.
Even the confusing ones.
Even the chapters that still feel unfinished.
You Don’t Have to Carry It Alone
I know many Christian teachers are ending this school year carrying exhaustion, disappointment, uncertainty, or emotional heaviness.
And honestly, that’s part of why I created the End-of-Year Reset Experience for Christian Teachers.
So many educators rush straight into survival mode or summer recovery without ever slowing down long enough to process the school year with Jesus.
This guided experience is designed to help Christian educators:
- pause and breathe
- reconnect with the Lord
- process the school year with Him
- release emotional heaviness
- receive encouragement and clarity for what’s next
-Live Zoom Experience
-Guided reflection + prayer
-Community with other Christian educators
Registration closes May 22.

And friend, if this season feels bigger than your own strength right now, I want to encourage you:
You are not failing.
God may simply be teaching you how to depend on Him in deeper ways than ever before.
Nothing is wasted.
And He is still faithfully writing your story.
