Fixing Our Thoughts on Christ this School Year

“His teachings stunned and dazed them, for he spoke with penetrating words that manifested great authority.” Luke 4:32 TPT

I have always been fascinated with the power of Jesus’ name.

Following our key scripture we find a demonized man yelling at Jesus to go away. “I know who you are. You’re Jesus of Nazareth, God’s holy one. Why are you coming to meddle with us?” (Luke 4:34)

And what does Jesus do? He rebukes the demon and it comes out of the man.

WHAT…?!

A demon who was controlling a man knew who Jesus was and the power of His presence, commanded Jesus to back off. But Jesus ignored the warning and cast the demon out. Not only did the man get free of demonic oppression, but his body was unscathed even though he’d been hurled to the floor in the middle of the congregation [what a wild day at church that would have been!]. (See Luke 4:36-37)

And you’re probably thinking, Wow… and how does this relate to me?

I’m glad you asked. This week we’re pausing to examine some background beliefs we need in order to live as Victors in Christ (instead of victims) because we want to carry the Kingdom into our schools.

We have to recognize WHO lives in us.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and the name that castes out demonic oppression, and heals all our diseases LIVES INSIDE US!! (Psalm 103:3-5; Luke 4:31; Romans 8:11)

When we enter our classrooms, ANYTHING is literally possible because ALL THE POSSIBILITIES of the KINGDOM REALM are present WITHIN US.

So invite the Holy Spirit to help you recognize that you’re commissioned to carry His miracle working power into your school and that it’s not limited to what you know or understand… because Jesus said “anything is possible for those who believe” (Mark 9:23)

What do you NEED to see happen this week?

Remind yourself throughout the week that truly all things are possible (Mark 9:23), so lay down what’s in our hands, and ask God to breathe His unlimited ideas, time, resources, etc. on your needs and believe He will be faithful to do this (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
